Daftar Aktris Peraih Piala Oscar Kategori Best Actress

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) memberikan penghargaan berupa Piala Oscar untuk para pemenang dalam ajang Academy Awards.

Piala Oscar untuk kategori Best Actress atau Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role sudah diberikan sejak penyelengaraan Oscars pertama di tahun 1929.

Saat itu Janet Gaynor menjadi pemenang dengan tiga perannya di film 7th Heaven, Street Angel, dan Sunrise.

Pada saat itu pemilihan nominasi dan pemenang memang berdasarkan kiprah seorang aktris dari beberapa film yang dibintanginya sepanjang tahun.

Namun pada penyelenggaraan Oscars ketiga atau tahun 1930, aturannya diubah.

Satu aktris hanya mewakili satu karyanya untuk bisa masuk nominasi.

Sejak tahun 1937, jumlah nomine untuk kategori Best Actress juga dibatasi maksimal lima orang.

Katharine Hepburn menduduki peringkat teratas sebagai pengoleksi Piala Oscar Best Actress terbanyak dengan empat trofi.

Posisinya disusul Frances McDormand yang sudah memenangkan tiga Piala Oscar.

Sementara Meryl Streep menjadi aktris dengan nominasi Oscar terbanyak.

Meryl Streep sudah masuk ke dalam 17 nominasi dan memenangkan dua di antaranya.

Posisinya disusul Katharine Hepburn dengan 12 nominasi dan Better Davis dengan 10 nominasi.

Halle Berry menjadi satu-satunya perempuan kulit hitam yang berhasil memenangkan kategori Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.

Kemenangan itu terjadi di tahun 2001 lewat film Monster's Ball.
