Being Suspects, Luna-Tari Can Still Breathe out of Jail

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police declared  Luna Maya and Cut Tari as suspects over porn videos featuring the prominent presenters and Nazriel Irham alias Ariel.

"Done," confirmed  National Police detective chief Comr. Gen. Ito Sumardi contacted by Kompas.com on Friday referring to their legal status after they made an open apology to public yesterday. Ito said that both of them could be charged with Article No 282 of Criminal Code on indecency and Article No 55 on abetting a crime.

Both presenters made an open apology to public over their involvement on the videos at different places almost simultenously on Thursday. However, National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang emphasized that the moves would not hamper law enforcement on them.  

While declared as suspects, both presenters will not be sent to jail as Nazriel Irham alias Ariel previously declared as suspect on the same case has been in jail.

"Does it mean all of them have to be in jail? It does not mean so. According to Criminal Code, it is not a must," said Ito.
